Subject: REPORTS AND STATISTICS - Scheduled dates for
completion of annual water-supply papers
The Branch is making good progress in reducing delays in
publication of annual reports. Offset typing for the 1956
water year is now proceeding but we should be preparing the
1957 reports. We believe it will be possible to achieve
publication of our reports on a satisfactory time schedule
with the cooperation of the district offices.
Records for chemical analyses, water temperatures, and
sediment concentrations should be in the Washington office no
later and preferably less than 18 months after the completion
of the water year.

In order to maintain this schedule, we must prepare for
publication 7 volumes a year.
With Lincoln preparing Volume II, parts 5 and 6,
Raleigh's Flex-o-writer project, and the district offices
submitting their records promptly, this can be accomplished.
The attached table shows the final dates that records
should be in Washington and the dates we have tentatively
scheduled through July 1962 for completion (delivery to
Section of Texts) of all volumes. Most schedules established
by your latest "Data Compilation" quarterly reports will meet
the suggested submission dates. When records are completed
prior to these dates they will still be welcomed and handled
as expeditiously as possible. Delays beyond these submission
dates should be avoided.
