GROUND WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 74.07
Subject: SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT--Well-location grid.
Enclosed are copies of three interpolation grids that have proved
useful in determining latitude and longitude of wells and springs.
The grids are applicable to 7-1/2 minute, 15-minute, and 1:250,000
quadrangle maps, and may be employed to determine latitude and
longitude of any mapped points, including gaging stations, Water
Quality stations, etc.
Use of these grids was described in a short paper entitled "A
well-numbering grid" by E. J. McClelland and J. S. Bader, in the
WRD Bulletin for May 1964. An exerpt (sic) from that paper is
attached.
Limited additional supplies of the grids are available upon
request.
