GROUND WATER BRANCH MEMORANDUM NO. 64.3
To: District Chiefs and Staff Officials (GW)
From: Chief, Ground Water Branch
Subject: ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT - Establishment of the
Equipment Development and Service Unit
The Equipment Development and Service Unit has been established in
Denver, Colorado to provide special equipment services formerly
offered by the Denver Hydrologic Laboratory. Because of the
increased workload at the Hydrologic Laboratory, it was decided to
establish a separate equipment unit and place it under the
direction of Mr. Eugene Shuter, who will devote his full time to
the activity of this unit.
The Hydrologic Laboratory will remain under the direction of Mr.
A.I. Johnson and will continue to provide a laboratory analysis
service to the field offices. In addition to the service work,
the laboratory will expand its research activities in the field of
rock and soil properties and methodology for determining these
properties.
Work schedules for the laboratory and equipment units have been
determined from the response to Ground Water Branch Memorandum
63.7 dated June 21, 1963. Mr. Shuter should be contacted directly
for equipment services.
