Subject:  Conference on Hydrology of Volcanics

The conference on Hydrology of Volcanics that was scheduled for
the week of September 15, 1957 will have to be postponed until
sometime in the future, due to the indefinite status of funds
appropriated for the operation of the Geological Survey during the
1958 fiscal year.

All papers prepared for presentation and other formal work should
be kept intact so that as soon as the status of the '58 fiscal
year has been clarified new dates can be set for the Volcanic
Conference, and planning for conferences on different terranes can
be formalized.
