USGS HYDROLOGIC MARKUP LANGUAGE (UsgsHydroML)


This specification defines the Hydrologic Markup Language, or UsgsHydroML.
HYDROML is an extension of the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) providing the Hydrologic Scientific Community with a standard definition of XML tags and concepts of structure to allow the definition of hydrologic information. The goal of HYDROML is to:

USGSHYDROML is the product of the National Water Information System of the Water Resource. The design of HYDROML is based on the W3C XML schema and on the Draft Federal XML Developer's Guide.


Releases of USGSHYDROML are generally done on a yearly basis and concide with the general NWIS release.
