Reference Lists

The HYDROML contains many codes that describe an condition and type of item. These codes are contained in reference lists which are contained in the United States Geological Survey's National Water Information System's data base. Listed below are the reference lists with names and definitions of all of the codes used. (at this time we are not generating all of the lists but hope to have them all documented here soon!)

Base Flow	Standard discharge measurement base flow code. A code to describe whether stream flow is base flow or not.	BaseFlowList.xml
Control Cleaned	Control observation clean code. Indicates whether a control was cleaned or not.	ControlCleanedList.xml
Control Conditions	The reference table containing the codes, names, and descriptions of the valid stream-flow control conditions.	ControlConditionsList.xml
Control Description		ControlDescriptionList.xml
Current Meter Suspension		CurrentMeterSuspensionList.xml
Data Aging Status	The reference table containing the codes, names, and descriptions of the valid phases of the data aging process.	DataAgingList.xml
Discharge		DischargeList.xml
Discharge Measurement Type	Discharge code. A code describing the method of adjustment for determining the rating analysis value.	DischargeMeasurementTypeList.xml
Discharge Measurement Quality
Curve Expansion Type	The reference table containing the codes, names, and descriptions of the valid curve expansion methods.	ExpandList.xml
Horizontal Flow Distribution Description	The code identifying the horizontal flow distribution in the stream cross-section. That is, whether the flow is evenly or unevenly distributed bank to bank	HorizontalFlowDistributionList.xml

Velocity Observation Type	Velocity observation code.	VelocityObservationList.xml
Vertical Flow Distribution Description	The code identifying the vertically flow distribution within the cross-section. That is, whether the vertical distribution of flow within the cross-section is mostly turbulent or smooth.	VerticalFlowDistributionList.xml
