Summary

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. SWPA_alvbsn is a vector dataset of alluvial-fill basin statistics for the Southwest United States. Statistics for each basin include physical details such as area, landcover, elevation, slope and precipitation. Anthropogenic data for basin include landuse, population, and wateruse.

Purpose

This dataset was created for use by the Southwest Principal Aquifer (SWPA) study to help characterize conceptual models of case studied National Water-Quatlity Assessment (NAWQA) Program alluvial basins as well as the possible natural and anthropogenic factors that may affect water quality.
