Summary

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This data set represents the extent of the Cambrian-Ordovician aquifer system in the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois.

Purpose

These data delineate the areal extent of the Cambrian-Ordovician aquifer system as defined in the 'Ground Water Atlas of the United States' (U.S. Geological Survey HA 730). The scale of source material is 1:2,500,000 and these data are not intended for use at a larger scale.
