These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This geospatial data includes oil and gas wells within the Colorado portion of the Raton Basin, as of January 2005. It includes a subset of over 60,000 existing and proposed oil and gas well locations within the State of Colorado. The well point data represent permitted locations, most of which have been drilled and completed, or drilled and abandoned.
