Project Summary: This research project seeks to investigate how turbulence affects the behavior of invasive carp larvae, and how this relates to the dispersal of carp larvae in rivers. The study will span three years and include three interrelated tasks through laboratory experiments and modeling. The laboratory data will be used to guide model development and analysis. The project will result in new data, new model, and new analysis that offer insights into how to better manage carp populations during their early life stages. This proposed project will address research priorities in the aquatic invasive species program through strong collaborations with USGS scientists.
