Project Summary: The overarching goal of this research is to develop a tool (CRIDA) that water managers and water management institutions can use for incorporating climate change into decision making for infrastructure investments throughout the US. The research project will include an assessment of existing and future water-related infrastructure to climate risks and provide guidance based on evidence, case studies, and advanced decision support methodologies for water-related infrastructure to address extreme weather events. In addition the project will develop methodologies for estimating climatic and eco-hydrological interactions with water availability, water quality, and water seasonality, including groundwater management and its interaction with shifting surface conditions. The outcome of the project will be a template for a decision support system that project managers, designers, planners, and operators of water-related infrastructure can use to assess the risk to climate change.
