Project Summary: Problem and Research Objective: An effective information dissemination program continues to be an essential element for transferring research and information to a wide audience. Information on water related fields is being generated at a rapid rate and must be transferred to a diverse audience in a timely manner. Further, the information must be science based and accurate. To address these critical components, the Institute of Water Research has developed and expanded upon its information dissemination and training program. The objectives are to develop and present educational programs designed to increase the public's awareness and appreciation of the water quality and quantity problems in Michigan and to stress the economic trade-offs required to solve water related problems. These programs are offered in the form of conferences, seminars, training workshops, computer models, web-based programs, and printed material.
