Abstract: One hundred and fifty streams and ponds will be monitored for pH and alkalinity once in April and once in October, and a subset of 26 sites will additionally be monitored for color, major cations and major anions to document the effects of acid deposition on Massachusetts surface water. This data will add to the more than 20 years of historical data already obtained to track ongoing indicators of trends in the effectiveness of SO2 and NOx regulations. A pamphlet will be created for results dissemination to volunteers and the general public.
