Abstract
The North Dakota Water Resources Research Institute continues a program that applies the bulk of the Federal allotment to a Graduate Research Fellowship program that meets almost every requirement of the Section 104 of the Water Resources Research Act of 1984. Six fellowships will be awarded in FY2001. Three of the fellowships are submitted as separate research projects under the name of the faculty advisor as PI, and the other three, summer-only or M.S. projects that will be completed in this fiscal year, are included in this project. Their titles are: "Evaluation of Peat Uptake Capacity for Copper and Nickel in Constructed Wetlands of the LTV Mining Company," Rapid Spray Extraction and Analysis of Organic Compounds from Water," and Characteristics and Influences of Upland Tree Harvest in Northern Forested Wetlands: Baseline Studies of Wetland Invertebrate Communities."
