The U.S. Geological Survey Hydrologic Notification Service, WaterAlert, sends email or text messages when values measured by USGS data-collection stations exceed user-definable thresholds. For Realtime Data from NWISWeb: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/ To Sign up for Notifications: http://water.usgs.gov/wateralert To manage or obtain information about existing notifications, send email to wateralert@usgs.gov with a command followed by your Subscription ID. To Delete (signoff) this alert: * send email to wateralert@usgs.gov with Subject: SIGNOFF hni-ZZZZZ To Pause this or ALL alerts for 5 days: * send email to wateralert@usgs.gov with Subject: PAUSE hni-ZZZZZ 5 you can change the 5 in the Subject to PAUSE ALL hni-ZZZZZ your preferred number of days to pause. To Continue (unpause) this or ALL alerts: * send email to wateralert@usgs.gov with Subject: CONTINUE hni-ZZZZZ CONTINUE ALL hni-ZZZZZ To List this or ALL settings: * send email to wateralert@usgs.gov with Subject: LIST hni-ZZZZZ LIST ALL hni-ZZZZZ For Help: * send email to wateralert@usgs.gov with Subject: HELP hni-ZZZZZ To Change an existing notification frequency or threshold Change settings * go to http://water.usgs.gov/wateralert and subscribe to the same site and parameter. This will update your subscription settings. Notes: Email and Text messages are not designed for paging and as such are not time sensitive; there can be delays in the receipt notifications depending on the routing.
