Water Resources of the United States

SOUTH CAROLINA

U.S. Geological Survey Fact Sheet 001-00 was published to provide documentation of procedures for solving rural and urban regression equations for South Carolina. However, since publication of the Fact Sheet, a new set of rural regression equations was published. Documentation of the new rural regression equations is provided in Water Resources Investigations Report 02-4140. This report supersedes the discussion of peak-flow estimates for rural areas in Fact Sheet 001-00, but the discussion of estimates for urban areas is not superseded.

Documentation of methods for estimating peak flows in rural areas of South Carolina is provided in

Feaster, T.D. and Tasker, G.D., 2002, Techniques for Estimating the Magnitude and Frequency of Floods in Rural Basins of South Carolina, 1999: U.S. Geological Survey Water-Resources Investigations Report 02-4140, 34 p., 4 appendixes

Documentation of methods for estimating peak flows in urban areas of South Carolina is provided in (Urban equations in the fact sheet below are superseded by the equations in wri02-4140):
