| GW2453: Hydro-Geophysical Workshop - Use of Heat as a Tracer of Surface- and Ground-Water Interactions | October 15, 13:00 to October 19, 11:30, 2007 | Falmouth/Cape Cod, Massachusetts |
GW2453
This workshop is sponsored by the Eastern Region and the Office of Ground Water. This 5-day course has three main goals -
The case studies will be based on recent USGS and other studies using heat as a tracer; field exercises will include deployment of standard and cutting-edge technology, such as high-resolution thermistors and fiber-optic technology; computer exercises will include overview and application of modeling programs. The USGS program VS2DH will be presented in detail, with example applications.
Experienced hydrologists of the U.S. Geological Survey. However, there are no prerequisites for the course. Because the class is sponsored by the Northeast Region (NR) and Office of Ground Water (OGW), preference will be given to applicants from Northeast Region. Non-USGS personnel may attend on a space available basis. Class participation is limited to 25 students.
This class will begin on Monday, October 15th at 13:00 and adjourn on Friday, October 19th at 11:30.
