LITTLE SUSITNA RIVER NEAR PALMER

Drainage area: 61.9 square miles.
Location: In SE1/4NW1/4 sec.26, T.19 N., R.1 E., Matanuska-Susitna Borough, on right bank 100 ft downstream from highway bridge on Wasilla-Fishhook Road, 1.5 mi north of road junction, 1.8 mi downstream from unnamed tributary, and 8 mi northwest of Palmer. Prior to Oct. 1, 1991 at site 60 ft upstream.
Period of Record: July 1948 to current year. Low-flow records not equivalent prior to January 1962, because most measurements below 300 ft3/s were made at site 3.4 mi downstream.
Gage Information: Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 916.6 ft (river-profile survey). Prior to Aug. 16, 1948, non-recording gage and Aug. 17, 1948 to May 15, 1972, water-stage recorder on left bank; water-stage recorder on right bank, May 16, 1972 to Sept. 30, 1991, at sites 60 ft upstream. Prior to Oct. 1, 1974, at datum 4.00 ft higher; Oct. 1, 1974 to Sept. 30, 1991, at datum 2.00 ft highter.
