Drainage area: 6,590 square miles.
Location: In SW1/4 sec.18, T.1 S., R.7 W., St. Stephens Meridian, George County, near right bank on downstream side of bridge on highway between Merrill and Avent, 0.5 mi downstream from confluence of Leaf and Chickasawhay Rivers, 0.5 mi west of Merrill, and at mile 80.8.
Period of Record: October 1930 to current year. Monthly discharge only for October and November 1930, published in WSP 1304. Daily mean gage heights published since January 1972. Gage-height records collected in same vicinity since 1904 are contained in reports of National Weather Service.
Gage Information: Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 26.25 ft above sea level. Prior to Dec. 6, 1934, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
