Drainage area: 1,030 square miles, approximately.
Location: Florence County, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 52, 75 ft upstream from Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Bridge, 1.0 mi south of Effingham, and at mile 43.4.
Period of Record: October 1929 to current. Gage-height records collected at same site since 1891 are contained in reports of National Weather Service.
Gage Information: Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 58.49 ft above sea level. Prior to Sept. 7, 1934, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
