National Research Program
Some National Research Program (NRP) publications and products of regional, national, or international interest are described in the links below. The NRP in the hydrological sciences encompasses a broad spectrum of scientific investigations and focuses on long-term integrated studies related to water resource and environmental problems. The NRP provides an infrastructure within which the USGS can develop new information, theories, and techniques to understand, anticipate, and solve water-resource problems facing managers of Federal lands and the Nation.
For some additional highlights, see Previously Listed Highlights and U.S. Geological Survey Circular 1195, which is available in pdf format, and provides highlights of some of the research problems that were being addressed when it was published in 2000.
