Nitrogen loading varied among the aquifers in this study

NITROGEN LOADING: Estimates of nutrient loadings to the land surface from atmospheric deposition, fertilizer, manure, and septic systems are also used to estimate sources of nitrate. The Piedmont aquifer has the highest loadings of nitrogen, primarily from manure application. Septic systems are typically the smallest component of nitrogen loading.
