- 18. Velocity: In wadeable reaches,
record velocity using a Price AA current meter, pygmy meter, or Gurley
meter. In nonwadeable reaches, use a velocity meter appropriate for
velocity determinations at that site. Velocity is recorded at 60 percent
depth where depth is less than 1 m. At depths greater than or
equal to 1 m, two velocity measurements, one at 20 percent depth and the
other at 80 percent depth, are recorded.
