Mid-Atlantic Federal Partners for the Environment
Our Mission
The Mid-Atlantic Federal Partners for the Environment (MAFPE) was created in 1999 to establish a framework for cooperation among the Federal agencies whose missions are specific or related to environmental protection efforts in the Mid-Atlantic States. The agencies will work together and with the states, tribes, local governments, and other parties toward a more integrated and comprehensive approach to the management, conservation, restoration and protection of the natural resources of the Mid-Atlantic States: Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. This cooperation will be carried out through implementing respective agency policies, watershed studies, implementing state, local and tribal projects, and the sharing of data and resource management methods. This will result in helping people make decisions regarding the management of all natural resources.
