Summary

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This point dataset contains geologic information concerning regolith thickness and top-of-bedrock altitude at selected well and test-hole locations in and near the Lost Creek Designated Ground Water Basin, Weld, Adams, and Arapahoe Counties, Colorado. Data were compiled from published reports, consultant reports, and from lithologic logs of wells and test holes on file with the U.S. Geological Survey and the Colorado Division of Water Resources. Purpose

This dataset is 1 of 4 datasets (see cross references) developed in support of U.S. Geological Survey Scientific-Investigations Report 2010-5082. The purpose of this dataset is to provide information about regolith thickness and altitude of the top-of-bedrock surface underlying regolith in the Lost Creek Designated Ground Water Basin. Points in the dataset were used as the basis for preparing contour lines of equal regolith thickness shown in the dataset ds507_regthick_contours.
