SF6 Analytical System
A minimum of one liter is required to measure ambient levels of SF6 in ground- and surface-water. Two and 2.5 liter glass bottles with polyseal caps have been used to collect samples for SF6 analysis. Gas samples are collected in electropolished stainless steel cylinders using ultra-clean 12-volt portable pumps. The detection limit is less than 1 atto mole per kilogram in water and about 0.1 parts per trillion in gases. Analytical precision is about 5 percent.
