Sample Containers For N2 / Ar
Two types of containers are used to collect N2 / Ar dissolved gases:
1. Septum bottles (160 mL) (most frequently used), the same bottle is used for N2, Ar, CH4, O2, CO2, and 4He. The bottles with their stoppers are preweighed and sent to the sample collector by the USGS lab. Pictures below.
2. Copper tubes with pinch off valves similar to the ones used for 3H/3He (Not available from the Reston CFC Laboratory)
