CFC Analytical Systems
Water samples are collected in 125 mL glass bottles using a method that prevents the contamination of the ground water with halocarbons. Five replicates are collected and at least two bottles per site are analyzed. Gas samples are collected in electropolished stainless steel cylinders using ultra-clean 12-volt portable pumps. The detection limits are about 0.5 to 1 picogram per kilogram in water and less than 1 part per trillion in gases. The analytical precision is about 3 percent.
