Services provided by the Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility

The HIF supports the hydrologic data collection activities of the USGS in a number of ways. The HIF warehouse offers over 1000 items for sale ranging from Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers to Zinc Anode Kits. All of these items are subjected to quality assurance testing by HIF personnel before they are placed in stock. Many of these warehouse items are also available for rent. The HIF repairs many of the items that it sells and rents, and is a factory-authorized repair center for 5 instrument manufacturers. The HIF also provides limited calibration and engineering consulting services. HIF’s two hands-on training classes provide field hydrographers the skills and tools they need to operate automated, telemetered, hydrologic monitoring stations.

	Sales/Rentals The HIF rents and sells hydrologic equipment to meet the hydrologic data collection needs of the USGS as well as other federal and state agencies. Read additional information on the HIF Sales and Rental programs.
	Repairs The HIF provides complete repair service on many types of electronic and mechanical hydrologic equipment and instruments. Timely repairs help support the hydrologic data collection mission of USGS offices across the United Sates. Read more....
