PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (CA) high flows in portions of southern CA

Summary: Field crews measuring high flows at select streamgages.

An atmospheric river over southern CA is bringing high winds and precipitation to parts of Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and San Diego areas over the last 24 hours. Winter storm warnings were issued for the Transverse Ranges. Over the last 24 hours, 1-3 inches of precipitation fell across the region, and an additional 1.5 to 3 inches of precipitation is expected over the next 24 hours. Much of the area is under flood watch or advisories through much of today.

No periods of record extremes are expected at any streamgages.

5 field crews are out measuring high flows at select streamgages in San Diego, Irving, Temecula, and Palm Springs.
