PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (NJ) Flash Flooding

Date: Wed, 03 Apr 2024 10:56:26 EDT

Summary: Flash flooding due to coastal storm(s)

A series of coastal storms have passed over the region the past couple of days. Heavy rain with potential thunderstorms are currently moving into New Jersey. Heavy rain rates on top of saturated ground will cause heavy runoff and flash flooding.

(3) 2 person crews and (2) 1 person crews are in the field to obtain discharge measurements. We are concentrating on sites with smaller drainages, urban sites, and sites needing rating definition due shifting controls or recently completed bridge construction/repair potentially altering stage-discharge relationship.

No gages are damaged.

No other assistance is needed.
