PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (CA) high flows in portions of northern CA

Summary: Field crews measuring high flows at select streamgages.

The leading edge an atmospheric river is affecting portions of northern California. The latest storm is bringing strong winds and precipitation. Many areas of the state are under flood warning and watch. Over the next 2 days, the storm is expected to continue, potentially bringing heavy rain to much of the state.

Over the last 24 hours, 3 to 4 inches of rain fell near Redding, Santa Rosa, and in pockets along the coast from south of Monterey to Malibu, with a few locations receiving 7 to 8 inches. A few stations of the Sierras just east of Fresno received over 3 inches of mixed snow and rain.

3 field crews of 5 people total are measuring flows at streamgages needing rating verification in the Napa Basin and part of the Russian Basin.
