PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (NY) Mostly Moderate River and Coastal Flooding in New York

Summary: A coastal storm event caused mostly moderate river and coastal flooding in New York.

The coastal storm impacting the East coast caused mostly moderate coastal and river flooding in New York state. Most of the impacted rivers as of today (December 18) were located in the Delaware, Susquehanna, and Hudson River basins as well as coastal locations around Long Island. One station reached 'major' flood stage.

Ten crews 4 NYWSC offices are currently deployed making flood measurements and ensuring streamgages remain operational. Three additional staff are deployed making Large Scale Particle Index Velocimetry (LSPIV) station measurements.
