PROJECT ALERT NOTICE (IN) Minor flooding in Indiana and Ohio

Summary: Minor to moderate flooding is occurring in Indiana and Ohio.

Widespread 2 inches of rain fell over most of central Indiana and western and central Ohio over the past 24 hours which as led to mostly minor flooding in these areas. Antecedent moisture conditions were still mostly saturated from an extremely wet February.

All gages are operational and no gages have been destroyed.

As for a USGS response from the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana (OKI) Water Science Center, two crews (four people) from the Indianapolis Field Office have been deployed to make high flow measurements in the White River basin, while a crew from the Louisville Field Office will be in southern Indiana to make high flow measurements in the Blue River basin. One crew from Ohio will be making high flow measurements in the Scioto and Blanchard River basins.
