OFFICE OF GROUND WATER TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM 91.03

Subject: PUBLICATIONS--Release of report, "A computer program for
                        calculating subregional water budgets
using results from the U.S. Geological
                        Survey modular three-dimensional finite-
                        difference ground-water flow model," by
                        Arlen W. Harbaugh

The subject report (attached) has been released as Open-File
Report 90-392. This report describes a computer program called
ZONEBUDGET, which computes subregional water budgets from flow
rates that are calculated by the U.S. Geological Survey modular
ground-water flow model. It is useful for analyzing model results
in order to gain insight about the flow system. This program has
evolved over many years; it was originally called SUBVOL. The new
version has some additional features, and results from the
published version can be cited in other reports.

We recommend that this report be brought to the attention of
technical and management personnel concerned with ground-water
modeling studies.

Copies of the computer program and additional copies of the report
are available from the author.

                                 of Ground Water
