GROUND WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 83.03
Subject: PUBLICATIONS--Papers on Modified Slug Test
The two papers listed below, which are attached, present and
discuss the modified slug test. This test is perhaps the only
practicable in situ technique for measuring the hydraulic
properties of very low permeability rocks such as some
argillaceous confining beds.
Bredehoeft, J. D., and Papadopulos, S. S., 1980, A method for
determining the hydraulic properties of tight formations:
Water Resources Research, v. 16, no. 1, p. 233-238.
Neuzil, C. E., 1982, On conducting the modified "slug" test
in tight formations: Water Resources Research, v. 18, no. 2,
p. 439-441.
