GROUND WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 81.02

Subject: Ground-Water Flow Modeling Assistance

Primary responsibility for providing assistance to field personnel
on flow models has been transferred from the research group to
Chuck Appel, Mike McDonald and Lynn Torak of the Ground Water
Branch. Mike and Lynn will be joining the Branch staff in early
1981.

An attempt should be made to solve certain types of problems
locally. Problems with JCL and system diagnostic messages can be
referred to district or regional computer specialists. Because
errors in data input account for an inordinate share of problems,
we recommend as a routine practice that input data be carefully
checked and edited before making simulation runs.

We ask that you contact the Branch before making significant
changes (other than I/O) to the general flow models. The change
you need may already have been made.

                              Gordon D. Bennett
                              Acting Chief, Ground Water Branch
