GROUND WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 80.06

Subject: GROUND WATER--Update of solute-transport model

The attached "update note" of March 26, 1980 documents several
recent revisions to the two-dimensional solute-transport model
that is documented in USGS Techniques of Water Resources
Investigations, Book 7, Chapter C2. Implementing the changes will
require the deletion of 4 original Fortran statements and the
insertion of 7 new ones. As the documentation released in 1978
contains about 2,000 statements, and the update released in 1979
(GW Branch Technical Memorandum 79.07) indicated 325 changes, it
is evident that we are rapidly converging on a final version.

The load module (program K590) in SYS1.LOADLIB on the IBM system
was updated on April 30, 1980 to include these modifications. On
the Reston MULTICS, the new source code is available in segment
moc2.fortran and the new object code is in segment moc2 of
directory >udd>Transport>LKonikow.

If there are any questions concerning the use of this solute-
transport model, please contact Leonard Konikow in Reston.
