SUBJECT: GROUND WATER - Calibration of ground-water models
Leonard Konikow has prepared the enclosed short paper on ground-
water model calibration that clearly discusses calibration
procedures, parameter adjustments, and calibration criteria. The
paper does not represent the final word on model calibration, nor
does it offer a cookbook approach to the problem. Nevertheless,
the approaches used to analyze the field examples discussed should
be of value to other ground-water modeling studies. We recommend
this readable paper to anyone concerned with ground-water
modeling.
Entitled "Calibration of ground-water models," the paper appears
in the Proceedings of the Speciality Conference on VERIFICATION OF
MATHEMATICAL AND PHYSICAL MODELS IN HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING, ASCE;
College Park, Maryland; August 9-11, 1978.
