Subject:  PUBLICATIONS - Report "A Systematic Examination of
                         Issues in Conjunctive Use of Ground and
                         Surface Waters," Technical Report No. 44

Conjunctive development and management of surface- and ground-
water resources is a prominent subject of interest today.  Most
district libraries have few references on this topic.  The
enclosed report, entitled, "A Systematic Examination of Issues in
Conjunctive Use of Ground and Surface Waters," by Stephen J.
Burges and Reza Maknoon of the University of Washington, provides
an analysis and bibliography of literature on the joint use of
ground water and surface water.  The bibliography lists 73 papers
on methodologies and technical issues involved in conjunctive
management practices.
