Subject:  Status of digital modeling of ground-water
          systems in WRD

Charles A. Appel, of the Ground Water Branch staff, has prepared
the enclosed summary of the status of digital modeling capability
in the Water Resources Division for handling ground-water
problems.

The review paper covers capability in flow modeling, coupled
ground-water/surface-water systems, transport of solutes in ground
water, coupled ground-water/economic systems, energy transport
models, and unsaturated flow modeling.

The Branch again reminds you that guidance and assistance on
modeling of ground-water systems is readily available from the
Regional Headquarters offices and Ground Water Branch.
