Subject:  PUBLICATIONS:  Ohio River Valley Sanitation Commission
                         reports on injection of waste water:
                         1.  Recommendations for Underground of
                         Injection of Wastewaters in the Ohio
                         Valley Region. -- 2.  Registry of Wells
                         for Use in Underground Injection of
                         Wastewater in the Ohio Valley Region.

The Ohio River Valley Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) prepared the
enclosed two reports covering (1) policy and regulatory procedure
for subsurface waste injection in the Ohio River Basin states and
(2) registry of waste injection wells for the 8-state regions.
The second volume was partly supported by a grant from the
Geological Survey's program of subsurface waste-storage studies.

These reports are utilized as guidelines for the use of the
subsurface for waste storage in the ORSANCO-compact states, and
may be useful as references for other parts of the country.
Additional copies can be obtained from the Ground Water Branch,

We also have about 100 remaining of the two preprint volumes for
UWM-II "Underground Waste Management and Artificial Recharge" (see
GWB Memo 74.08) and encourage requests if they would be useful in
district operations.
