GROUND WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 74.05

Subject: PROGRAMS AND PLANS - Parameter codes for storing ground-
                              water withdrawal (pumpage) data in
                              the WRD water-quality file.

Two parameter codes have been added to allow storage of ground-
water withdrawal data in the WRD water-quality file as requested
by some Districts.

          72050     Monthly withdrawal of ground water,
                    in millions of gallons

          72051     Annual withdrawal of ground water,
                    in millions of gallons

The date field for parameter 72050 should include year and month
(no day); the date field for parameter 72051 should include year
only (no month or day).

Provisions will be made to convert millions of gallons to acre-
feet, if desired, on retrieval.  Suggestions or requests for other
programs to tabulate and manipulate ground-water withdrawal date
stored in the water-quality file should be directed to Claud
Baker, who will make the necessary arrangements with Automatic
Data Section.
