The subject paper, of which one copy is enclosed, was published in
English in the Zeitschrift fur angewandte Mathematik und Physik
(known also in this country as the Journal of Applied Mathematics
and Physics), volume 19, number 4, pages 606-613, July 25, 1968.
Though published in Germany, the journal apparently includes many
papers in English and other languages in addition to German.  For
example, the issue in which the subject paper is included
contained nine full length papers, seven in English and two in
German.

The subject paper seems to constitute a rather fundamental
approach to describing the forces present in porous media and
should be of interest to those working in this field.
