GROUND WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 68.1
To: District Chiefs and Staff Officials
From: Chief, Ground Water Branch, WRD
Subject: GEOPHYSICS - Advances in downhole techniques.
Ground-water specialists on District staffs will find the attached
abstracts informative and useful. The papers abstracted summarize
both recent advances and the state-of-the-art for borehole
geophysical techniques. The papers were presented last month at
the Eighth Annual Meeting of the Society of Professional Log
Analysts in Denver.
In addition, attention is directed to a two-part article in the
April and May, 1967, issues of World Oil entitled "Recent Advances
in Formation Evaluation." Although directed to petroleum
exploration and development, the article has current and potential
pertinency in ground-water investigation.
