The attached informal paper discusses theory of basic data
collection for modern ground water studies.  Analog models are
placed in perspective.

Copies were distributed to attendees of the Branch's first Ground
Water Seminar, in San Mateo, California last September, and the
paper has since been reproduced for general distribution.
Additional copies are available, if required.
