Subject:  EQUIPMENT - Suggestion for modification of Rock-Color
                      Chart for easier use

A member of the Geologic Division has devised a simple
modification of the Rock-Color Chart (1948 edition) that should
save time for our geologists, particularly in measuring sections.

Instructions and diagrams for making the modifications are
attached.  Trimmed edges of the Chart should be covered with
transparent tape to protect them from fraying.

The Branch can meet requests for small additional supplies of this
suggestion, if needed.
