GROUND WATER BRANCH MEMORANDUM NO. 64.22
To: District Chiefs and Staff Officials (GW)
From: Chief, Ground Water Branch
Subject: CONTRACTS: Policy Regarding Test Drilling
Your attention is called to Ground Water Branch Memorandum 62.24
outlining policy regarding test drilling. Of particular
importance is the part relating to the securing of a signed
agreement from the property owner, giving the Survey permission to
install and use a test hole or observation well.
Standard agreement Form 9-1483 has been developed for this purpose
and should be used whenever possible. If the property owner
insists on another type of agreement the form and/or terms may not
be acceptable to the U.S.G.S. Form 9-1483 can be obtained from
Storage and Shipping Section in the same manner as other Survey
forms.
As pointed out in Ground Water Branch Memorandum No. 63.8 wage
determinations are no longer necessary for exploratory drilling
contracts.
