GROUND WATER BRANCH MEMORANDUM NO. 64.13
To: District Chiefs and Staff Officials (GW)
From: Chief, Ground Water Branch
Subject: MAPPING TECHNIQUES: Hydrologic Map Symbols
Your attention is called to the article entitled "Standard Map
Symbols" by D. R. Wiesnet in the Water Resources Bulletin of
August 1963.
Mr. Wiesnet, in his article, solicited comments on the symbols.
Also he noted that "Standardization of symbols and colors combined
will come later." If you have any comments but have not yet
furnished these to Mr. Wiesnet, please do so promptly. Lack of
comments from a district may be accepted as indicating tacit
approval by the district chief of Mr. Wiesnet's suggested symbols
as a basis later for standardization.
