GROUND WATER BRANCH MEMORANDUM 64.1
To: District Chiefs, and Staff Officials (GW)
From: Chief, Ground Water Branch
Subject: PROGRAMS AND PLANS - Computer techniques in ground-water
hydrology
Attached is a copy of the program documentation for and sample
table resulting from a computer program that was prepared by the
Colorado District with the cooperation of the Branch of
Computation. This material is an excellent example of the use of
the computer in the field of ground-water hydrology.
Hydrologic problems of a rather complex nature may be evaluated
rapidly by means of computer techniques. Undoubtedly, other
districts have considered use of computers or already may have
used them for analyzing specific problems. We are requesting
submittal of ideas and comments on computer techniques. We also
would like to receive examples of computer applications to actual
field problems.
Material received in response to this memorandum will be used in
preparing a writeup on the use of computers in ground-water
hydrology. Your cooperation will be appreciated.
